Pound Struggles as UK Joblessness Grows

UK labor data printed mixed today with claimant count meeting expectations at 24.K vs. 24.7K forecast, the unemployment rate a bit better at 7.9% from 8.0% projected but the 3 month average earnings slumping to 1.7% versus consensus calls of 2.0%. The rise in joblessness pushed the unemployment rate to its highest level since September 1997.
