Higher Housing Prices Supports Pound Lifts FTSE

The London markets and the Pound Sterling got a bit of a lift this morning following the release of U.K. housing prices which portends some recovery in the all important housing sector. Also being heralded as positive news for the U.K. economy was a report showing that consumer confidence levels rose to their highest in nearly two decades.
