Retail Sales Up 1% In August 2010, But Internet Sales Soar

UK finds that UK August 2010 retail sales values were up 1.0% year-on-year comparably over August 2009. August 2009 however, was the weakest month in H2-2009 and in that month sales had fallen 0.1% from August 2008. On a total basis, sales were up 2.8% in August 2010 against a 2.2% increase in August 2009. However, non-food non-stores increased 17.
