Italy's Economy Contracts 0.5% in Q3

With GDP falling 0.5% in the third quarter of 2008 following a 0.4% decline in the previous quarter, Italy is officially in its fourth recession in seven years, according to preliminary estimates from the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT). Italy's GDP has declined by its most pronounced rate since the fourth quarter of 1998.
